I am a late gen-ex-er (born ‘78) with much older parents (really pre-baby boom). I’m glad you said the thing about not all gen-ex-ers experiencing this. One of my critique partners was like “my mom actually didn’t do this” and urged me to modify some of my language. But it’s interesting and so sad that even if we don’t get it from family we get it from society. So much needs to change!
