Thank you for publishing this! I’ve experienced aspects of your story myself, and I know many others who’ve also experienced aspects. You’ve done a really good thing by publishing this piece. I think part of the reasons it’s receiving so many extreme reactions is that it’s triggering all the shame and vulnerability that comes along with money. And that’s also what makes it important. You lived an extreme example of what happens to some degree to so many (new and not new!) in the publishing industry.
